Pennsylvania to middle Georgia andAlabama, and it is only there that they are known to exist. Aside from their value in remov-ing these calculi formations, these waters are unsurpassed in their value as prophylactics orpreventives of this form of disease. Their great superiority over any artificial compound pre-pared by the most skillful chemist is attested by every well-informed physician. Thompson,in his Preventive Treatment of Calculus, says: I have proved by experiment that thesolutions prepared by nature (Lithia Waters) far surpass in effect the same draughts concoctedby the apothecary, thus showing conclusively the value of Natural Lithia Waters. Artificialmineral waters, owing to impure water and drugs, and their almost criminal adulteration, arepronounced by eminent medical authorities as positively dangerous to use, and they haveagitated the promulgation of a general law forbidding their manufacture and sale.
